Canada's Wonderland

Casa Loma

CN Tower

The world's tallest building measures 553.3 metres (1,815 feet). It features Space Deck, an observation gallery 447 metres (1,465 feet) in the air; a motion simulator ride; Q-Zar, a laser-tag game; EcoDek, an interactive exhibit with a focus on environmental issues; Virtual World, a virtual-reality experience; and a glass floor through which you can look down 113 storeys.

The Canadian National Exhibition

The CNE might be described as the world's biggest county fair. It runs every year from mid-August to Labour Day (the first Monday in September). It includes nightly concerts featuring top pop music acts such as David Bowie, Kiss, Chicago, and Tina Turner. A great air show takes place on the last three days of the Ex. About three million people go every year.

Harbourfront Centre

The National Ballet of Canada

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra belongs to this city and, increasingly, to the world. Each year, the TSO performs more than 160 concerts at Roy Thomson Hall, the Orchestra's home base. At the same time, its international presence is strong, built by a history of touring that includes a 1996 performance at New York's Carnegie Hall and reinforced by the recent multi-year recording contract with Music Director Jukka-Pekka Saraste and Finlandia Records (a division of Warner Classics International).

Festivals

Caribana

Caribana, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 1997, is the largest Caribbean cultural festival in North America. Presented by the Caribbean Cultural Committee, the two-week festival attracts over a million participants annually.

The Toronto International Film Festival

The Toronto International Film Festival will celebrate its 22nd anniversary. The Festival, formerly the Festival of Festivals, has undergone countless changes in twenty-odd years, beginning as a small upstart on the international film festival circuit in 1976, and growing, in size and influence, eventually becoming one of the largest public festivals in the world and among one of the top four festivals internationally. A recent poll in the Los Angeles Times rated it number one in the world.

The Molson Indy - Toronto

The North by Northeast Music Festival

The Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival

Welcome to the du Maurier Downtown Jazz website. This year, over 60 different venues are participating in the excitement with ticketed performances in concert halls, dozens of nightclubs, hotels and special venues, daily free performances, one dollar concerts, free jazz film screenings and free jazz workshops.

The Word on the Street Festival

On Sunday September 29th, from 11am to 6pm, The Word On The Street book and magazine festival will take place simultaneously in Toronto, Halifax and Vancouver, uniting the country in a national celebration of literacy and the printed word. The more than 400 combined attractions include exhibits by local and national publishers, booksellers, literacy organizations, libraries and writers' associations, exhibiting an exceptional array of current and backlisted books and magazines to browse or buy.

SkyDome

SkyDome is an all-season venue where events and conferences requiring a portion of the full stadium capacity of over 60,000 guests can be staged in a climate controlled environment or open-air stadium. A variety of events have been staged including two World Series, NBA Toronto Raptors, Supercross, the Auto Show, The Opera "Aida", Billy Graham Crusade, Track and Field, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, WWF Wrestlemania, and JumboTron events such as Film Festivals, final episodes of Cheers and Star Trek, The Next Generation and Toronto Maple Leaf playoff games.
